The first thing that had to be done after our spur of the moment elopement was to find a place for all four of us to live. The second thing that needed to be one was to get the families together so that they could meet each other. My dad proposed a picnic and Oscar Shearer State Recreation Area on U.S. 41 between Nokomis and Osprey. The families accepted. My dad cooked the steaks, everyone brought something, and we played on the play grounds, went swimming, and hiked along the nature trails in the park. While doing all this, everyone met everyone else.
